Story
Like so many other Spanish winemakers, Joan was born into a winemaking family, learning how to make wine from his Grandfather. In 2013, he embarked on his own project in Benissa Marina Alta, just north of Alicante.
His philosophy is simple. Treat the vines well, build a strong ecosystem with reliance on nature rather than chemicals (of which none are used). In the cellar, Joan only uses natural yeasts and resists using any additives at all, to ensure his wines are pure and clearly reflect the special terroir of his vineyards.
Joan is a big fan of indigenous grape varieties, including the unknown Giro and the aromatic Moscatel, both widely planted in the Alicante region.
