Tuscany has long been considered one of the jewels in the crown of Italian winemaking, and with good reason. This region is responsible for some incredibly complex red wines and age- worthy whites.
Sangiovese is the king of red grapes in the region. This high acid, tannic variety has enormous ageing potential, mainly when it’s grown in areas such as Montalcino and Chianti. Sangiovese wines often spend prolonged periods in large old oak barrels, and many will see some time in the bottle too. The result is a herbal, sour cherried explosion of concentrated flavours that we love.
