Story
Ramon Saenz Blanco’s vineyards are located in Rioja Alavesa, probably the most exciting subregion in Rioja. This is the home to limestone soils and old vines - some of Ramon’s are up to 100 years old. The wines from Alavesa tend to have a freshness to them unlike the rest of Rioja which makes them very special indeed.
As for Ramon, his family have been growing grapes on these lands for nearly 100 years - winemaking is in his blood. He cultivates 10 hectares of organic vineyards in small plots, close to the imposing Sierra de Cantabria mountain range.
High altitude, great soils, old vines, no wonder these are some of the best Rioja wines we’ve found.
