Domaine La Monardiere have been organic since 2007. They grow classic Vacqueyras grape varieties for this red wine including Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache and Mourvedre. The wine is dark, intense and full bodied and comes alive after a short time in a decanter. The flavours are deeply concentrated including black cherry, cocoa, violets and woody herbs. An ageworthy wine from, in our opnion, one of the best Vacqueyras producers around today.

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE Deep and intense, this wine comes alive after a short breathing time. The flavours are dark and brooding such as black cherry, cocoa and there’s an almost bloody aroma.
STRUCTURE Plenty of aromatics on the palate with some violet and red cherry flavours. Dense and packed full of flavour with great acidity. Tannins are well integrated which gives the wine a smoothness and balance.
PAIRING Decant this wine for a couple of hours before serving it with dishes such as game or other deep roasted meats. It would also work well with strong cheeses.
