The historic estate of Château de Mérande - Domaine Genoux has been making incredible Savoie natural wines since the 1200s! It's a small estate comprising of just 12 hectares including some rather special organic Mondeuse vines that go into this particular red wine. This is a peppery, spicy red with fantastic acidity that carries the concentrated flavours of raspberries, strawberries and black pepper.

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE The nose is very intense and complex, and very classic Mondeuse. Think raspberries and strawberries with notes of rose and red flowers. Then there is intense black pepper, so commonly found in this grape variety.
STRUCTURE The wine is kept fresh with notable acidity that is balanced with intense fruitiness. It’s structured and well balanced between the fruit and floral flavours found on the nose. The finish is where you’ll find the black pepper, keeping things interesting.
PAIRING A casual meal of tapas or a plate of cheese would work perfectly, as would roasted beef which would compliment the peppery flavours.
