Winzerhof Altmann - Orange Pet-Nat, Traisental, Niederösterreich
Winzerhof Altmann - Orange Pet-Nat, Traisental, Niederösterreich
A deliciously fun orange pet-nat from natural winemaker Matthias Altmann. This wine is 100% Gruner Veltliner which has been fermented on its skins which gives it a brilliant orange hue. Expect flavours of ripe peach, pear, white pepper and apple with a concentrated palate and finish. The old vines that are responsible for this wine are up to 70 years old and grow in the sub-region of Traisental, where Grunter Veltliner thrives particularly well.

- WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE Gruner Veltliner has been fermented on skin which gives this wine a ripe peach, pear and apple nose with a touch of classic Gruner Veltliner savourines - think white pepper and salad leaves.
- STRUCTURE A lively wine, filled with bubbles that lifts all those flavours found on the nose. The flavours are fresh and light but long and concentrated at the same time, which leaves a lingering finish that goes on much longer than the last sip.
- PAIRING The characterful flavours and bubbles would pair with beetroot and goat’s cheese tartlets perfectly.
