Organic and biodynamically grown Sangiovese grapes are aged in large old oak barrels for 22 months to make this gorgeous Rosso di Montalcino. The grapes are actually from the estate's Brunello di Montalcino sites. The flavours include plums, woody herbs and balsamics. The palate is powerfully concentrated with well judged acidity and plenty of grip from the tannins. It's an age-worthy natural wine that could be cellared for up to 10 years.

WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE A powerful nose with aromas of plums, woody herbs and balsamics.
STRUCTURE All Sangiovese grapes for this wine are from Brunello di Montalcino vineyards, but are aged for less time - around 22 months in barrel. The result is a ripe but characterful wine with strong tannins that are well balanced with fruit and well-judged acidity.
PAIRING Something classic from the region would work well with this wine, such as Ribollita (hearty vegetable soup) or mushroom risotto.
