Organically grown Nero D'Avola grapes see five months in stainless steel prior to bottling in this full bodied, full flavoured, spicy Sicilian red wine. WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE The smell of cherries is strong in this wine, both black and red. There is also a touch of herbs and black pepper along with blackcurrant and blackberry notes.
STRUCTURE This wine sees 5 months ageing in stainless steel which preserves the freshness of the fruit. Tannins are present but not overwhelming and there’s a fresh acidity too. Plenty of fruit and spice flavours come through and there’s a long finish.
PAIRING Roast pork with polenta chips would be a classic match.
