Château Cazebonne - Galets de Cazebonne 2019 Blanc de macération, Bordeaux, Graves
Château Cazebonne - Galets de Cazebonne 2019 Blanc de macération, Bordeaux, Graves
It's rare to find a skin macerated - or orange - wine in Bordeaux but Jean-Baptiste Duquesne is no ordinary producer. This wine is made from a blend of Sauvignon Gris and Semillon, aged in amphora and bottled with no added sulphites. The grapes are farmed both organically and biodynamically. The result is an intense wine filled with roasted peach, flambéed pineapple and flinty aromas with a rich mouthfeel and long finish.

- WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE This is one intense wine! A balanced aroma of citrus and orange blossom, followed by roasted peach and flambéed pineapple.
- STRUCTURE Deeply coloured and full bodied, this wine is an explosion of intense stone fruit and flint. The texture is viscous and coats the mouth, meaning the finish is long and pronounced.
- PAIRING Roasted sweetbreads or the famous duck à l’orange would be perfect partners for this wine. Aromatic dishes would also pair well thanks to the wine’s intensity. You could even drink it on its own as a digestif.
